"You are probably right about that" she smiled "I mean, I am not exactly welcome in churches" she said with a sad smile "And it's a little too dangerous, because of all those crosses" she added.
"Anyway, I really don't want to know which is better, heaven or hell. I am perfectly happy here on earth." she said, glancing at Leon.
"What would you like to know about me? My family? Where I come from?" she asked.

"Yeah." he said with a grin and grinned and pulled a charm out of his pocket and tossed it at Tuala, it was a Celtic cross, just a circle and a plus sign, no Christion cross at all so it should't harm her. A theory he had wanted to test out for a while.
The elf chuckled and stuck his tongue out at her, "Well taht is cause you are immortal. Dying isn't quite on your agenda is it? And anyway why would you want to go to heaven?" he asked and winked, "Hell has far more company."
"Everything. I know a bit about your family. I've met Sarah. So what about your parents?" he asked her sighing as his hair was getting in his eyes again. He took out a leather strip fropm his pocket and tied it around his head to keep the hair from his eyes.

Tuala caught the cross. It didn't burn her hand as she thought it might. She threw it back to him.
"No" Tuala said "I don't plan to die any time soon" she smiled a sad smile.
Tuala slowly made towards a large, shady tree. She sat down beneath it, leaning against the tall trunk. She remained quiet for a minute.
After some time, she looked up at Leon. “I was born in 1909. My mother was a witch, my father, a wizard. One year after I was born, my father left my mother. For the first five years of my life, I lived in Ireland. After that, my mother and I moved to England. When I turned seventeen, my father came to us.” She paused. Her voice had begun to fill with sadness. This was the first time she had ever told this story to anyone.
“I don’t know how he found us. He told my mother that he was going to take me away. I didn’t want to go. He hadn’t been a part of my life. I didn’t even know him.
My mother told him that he couldn’t take me, so he..” she trailed off. She glanced at the ground, then continued between sobs “So, he killed her”. Her voice sounded choked.

Leon grinned smugly as he caught the cross and put it back in his pocket, "You ever thought about using any Celtic charms?" he asked with a smile and admiring look in his eyes, "The druids were something, very knowlegable and powerful, for humans that is. I think they had help from Elves as they were the human evivelent of us. They are others that worshipped the earth and probably still do but the druid magic i have seen are very impressive."
He stood there and listened to her story wondering why the hell was telling him this. He knelt down beside her and placed a hand over one of hers. When she got to the part about her father killing her mother he became really angry, a very rare and scary thing as anger can bring out his change. And this is exactly what it did but only partially, he managed to stop the full transformation but only just, his eyes had turned the colour of starlight and he quickly closed them hoping she didn't see them. His power also jumped and and a fair amount was released from his body naturally, he also hoped that she wasn't able to pick that up, but come on who wouldn't? Being in a magic school and all.
When he finally supressed his magic he opened his eyes to find himself looking into hers... Ah crap!

"No, I never have" She said "I don't see what I would need one for" she smiled.
Tears rolled down her cheeks freely. She calmed herself down, trying to get the image of her mother dying out of her head.
When she looked up at Leon, she gasped. His eyes were a strange colour. The colour of starlight. It was beautiful. His aura changed too. She couldn't describe it. She could sense something very different. It didn't last long though.
The tears stopped. She wiped her face with the back of her hand. "What was that?" she asked quietly.

"Nature Tuala. That is why. They worshipped it, the natural course of life and inturn they could influence it. They are charms just for vampires. A lot of them were made during the last days of the druids, their rebelion against the church." he told her and smiled, "See crosses nowadays I assume are mass produced, no spells are said over them so how do they harm you? These ordinary chunks of metal? It is a symbol, one of the light. While I know little about druid magics I know this, their rune amulets were magic there is one that may help you."
He pulled out a stone on a leather cord and winked at her, the stone was pretty ordinary, about the size of a bottle cap with a horizontal line with a V in the middle of the line so it looked a bit like a simple drawing of a mountain on its side. "It helps with precognition, luck, reflection, protection -so it may work for you against crosses- and to see the truth... so telepathy perhaps."
He ground his teeth at her question and stood up quickly. He placed a hand on the tree as he got dizzy and another on his head as it started to hurt, he was also pantinh heavily as if he was athsmatic, "Nothing. It... wasn't..." he said through his pain and lack of breath, "Anything you should... concern your... self with."
Damn it! I hate this, just a short time and my head is killing me! I hate this thing! he though not relising his whole body was shaking.

(Sorry it has taken me a while to reply, have had no internet access ) "I guess my ring possesses some type of charm" Tuala said, raising her hand so that Leon could see it. It didn't look too special. It would appear to anyone as just a silver ring set with a small stone. Yet, it was terribly important to her. Rays of sunlight shone through the leaves of the tree and glinted off the small moonstone. She stared at it. One hand flew up to the ring at her neck, hidden underneath her shirt. "I wouldn't need protection against crosses, I rarely ever come into contact with one" she sighed. Her eyes snapped to his. " Telepathy.." she said, but trailed off. Surely he couldn't know as well. Sarah, I bet. she thought to herself. Leon did say that he had already met her.Tuala stood up. "Are you alright?" she asked, concerned. She placed a hand on his shoulder. "You don't look too good."

Leon looked at the ring and could see that it did have magic in it, "May I?" he asked holding his hand out, he would love to see how it was done. He raised an eyebrow as her hand went to her shirts, he didn't ask about it but figured she had something around her neck.
"Well it's your funeral." he joked and smiled at her. The elf frowned at her as her eyes found his after he said telepathy, "Now that is an intersting reaction sweetheart..." he said with a grin as he leaned forward, "You wouldn't happen to be one would you? A telepath."
"I'm fine!" he said coldly and shrugged her hand off. He hated that he lost control, he thought he had complete control over his emotions. "Damn it!" he said and punched a tree hard enough that it shook and caused him to bleed quite a bit. "I'm sorry. Nobody is ment to see me that way. It's the first time I have lost control in years."

Tuala made sure that there was no sunlight shining down on her and pulled the ring off of her finger, placing it into Leon's open hand. She dropped her hand away from the base of her neck, letting it fall back down to her side.
Tuala smiled. "Umm.." her smile faded slightly. She reached her mind out to his. I guess I am she thought to him.
Tuala flinched as the blood began dripping to the ground. That smell, that delicious smell. She held her breath and turned away. "Everybody. Loses. Control. At. Some. Point" she gasped. She turned around with unhuman speed, bearing sharp teeth.

Leon smiled his thanks at her and carefully inspected the ring, turning it this way and that as he examined the magic, "Hmmm interesting. I do not have the knowledge to analyse it further but it seems the spell will last forever... perheps it takes the energy it need from the radiation is protects her from. Like a big radiation magnet." he said to himself but frowned, "But if it did that it would gain more power than it uses so the gemstone must me filled with a Sh**load of magic... I can't get to it though... maybe only a vampire can? Hmmm very interesting."
He looked up to her and grinned, "Thanks. That was fun." he said and held his hand out for her. He winced at her thoughts and his smile vanished, "Don't! I have wards and spells in my mind that would burn out your mind if you venture too deep. And the mind of an elf draws many people in. So please, don't."
The elf spoke a quick calm word and a five meter radius of air around him thickened, to a human it would be like running through water so he is sure it would level the playing field in terms of speed, maybe give him the advantage. "Sorry gorgeous but a vampire has already claimed this blood. And I am just a one vampire guy."

Tuala waited patiently while Leon examined the ring. "I guess you could be right." she said. She knew that he wasn't talking to her directly. She took the ring from him and returned it to her finger, smiling.
Tuala laughed "It's ok, I would never read another's inner thoughts unless absolutely necessary" she smiled. "I was merely projecting my thoughts to you, nothing else."
Tuala took a step towards Leon, a fierce look in her black eyes. Another step, and another, getting closer. After another step, she hit the strange barrier. She kept walking, but found it hard to get any closer. She shuddered. Stepping back, she closed her eyes, and the sharp fangs retracted. "I..I'm sorry" she said in barely more than a whisper. "I..I.." she couldn't continue. I must get away from here she thought to herself, angry that she had let herself lose control. It was funny .. only minutes earlier, Leon was saying how he had let himself lose control. A strange laugh escaped her.

"Do you know if it is new or old? Like a couple hundred years or a couple thousand?" he asked with happily, seeing that spell cheered him up from his friend's death and to be honest he is kind of hoping that it is an ancient and forgotten spell. Learing how to do it would be the best.
"Please just don't. Unless we are surrounded by enimes or whatever please don't go in my head." he whispered almost begging her. He still vividly remembers the last time someone went deep into his mind, the screaming and the pain from him alone was almost unbearable but with the telepath, clawing at his face, tearing his eyes out trying to get to his brain...
"Don't be. It is who you are, vampires should never apologise for what you are. You drink blood whoop-dee-freaking do." he said with a chuckle as he let the spell go, "It would be like me being sorry for being a freaking hippy."

"I don't know how old exactly" Tuala said "but, I have had ever since I was changed" she spat the word. "It could be hundreds of years old for all I know."
She could see that it troubled him, but she wasn't going to pry. "Ok" she said "I promise that I won't do it again .. unless we are surrounded by enemies or whatever" she chuckled.
"Never?" She said. "If I could, I would apologise for being what I am every single second of my life." She smiled weakly at him. "Yes, but I have never gone to attack a person before. I am not going to let it happen again".
She paused for a minute, thinking back to what he had said when she was about to attack him, just before she regained control of herself again. "A vampire has already claimed your blood? So you are just letting a vampire drink your blood? What happens if they turn on you and kill you? You may think that you're stronger than all of us, but it may not always be the case."

"There is supposedly a cure for vampirism." he said slowly after hearing her disgust, "A very very extremly rare elemental power, Spirit. It is said to show auras, heal, bring the dead back completely and bonds the two together, enter people's dreams. The powers can go on and on or it could be all a coincidence but there are a few ancient records back home that said of a spirit user curing vampirism."
He smiled at her and nodded, "Thank you. But just know that if you break your word and it isnt a life or death situation I will kill you." he told her completely serious. "Relax Tuala!" he said and sighed "Yes I let her drink from me... well it was just the once but until it is made absolutely clear it wont happen again I will not protests. And I can handle it with my powers."
"Besides it would be better to die in he bliss of a bite than what will happen in a few years. You saw what that magic did to me, I am still suffering from it and that was about a third of it's full power for a few seconds!" he said loudly, "Now picture three times that for an hour, two hours. My magic rips me apart! Death will claim me in a hundred years if I am very luck. Most likely I have ten at most. Now you complain about what you are all you want and hate yourself but you have a reason to live otherwise you would have taken that ring off long ago and burned!"

Tuala laughed “A cure?” she asked “I have never heard of such a thing. But, then I guess, elves are much stronger in the area of magic.” I will have to find out more about this cure, she thought to herself.
“Don’t worry, I won’t break my promise” she said seriously, smiling.
Tuala thought about what he was saying. “I believe that you will last longer than that. You are very strong, and I know you will pull through.” She said encouragingly. “Just think; if I had taken off the ring earlier and burned, I would leave my sister in grief. For all I know, she could’ve done the same. She may act as though she doesn’t care, but I know how much she loves me and I love her back.”
